You were prominently featured in my dream last night. You were speaking in tongues and kept referencing "Methuselah," but you were also a pretty good time. We and a bunch of Rose Bar people were at a christening aboard a large sinking ship and the mood was quite dark because we knew that after the baby was christened we would all die. Katherine brought a cake from Costco and it was nice but it said "Happy Costco Christening" and we all laughed at that.

My thoughts about this dream is that it touches on some basic truths about our modern culture, including the Puritanical doctrine that still holds a deathgrip on American politics and the increasing pervasiveness of corporate sponsorship, along with the idea that even our most sacred and private rituals will one day be underwritten. I can only hope that the sinking ship implies a type of hopeful destruction, from which arises a new and more evolved future where we free ourselves from consumption and influence to reach our highest potential as truly actualized and enlightened beings.

The tone of that was meant to be self-mocking but I'm realizing it's just pretty right on.
